Play To Learn Therapy focuses on providing our children with the tools needed to achieve success within their natural environments through the use of occupational therapy services.
A child's primary goal is to grow, learn and play, with one of their main occupations being play. Through the use of play and other therapeutic techniques, Play To Learn Therapy promotes the development of motor planning skills, fine motor skills, visual motor/visual perceptual skills, emotional maturity, social skills, and self-confidence needed to discover and explore new environments.
Lorin graduated with her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in 2009, followed by a completion of the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program at Florida International University in 2011.
Lorin has been a certified occupational therapist since 2012 with an NBCOT Badge received in Pediatrics as a Practice Area of Emphasis. She is also the Owner/President of Play To Learn Therapy, Inc.
Lorin acquires expansive knowledge regarding sensory integration and utilizes this model of practice during most therapy sessions, amongst other models of practice that are appropriate on an individual level. She is also extensively trained in the Learning Without Tears Program and has assisted many children achieve improved school success through implementation of this program.
It is an integral part of Lorin's practice as an occupational therapist to always maintain a focus on assisting children with achieving their highest level of success within their daily lives. Her passion and love for children and field of practice is her driving force as a therapist.
Kalie attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science in 2015. She continued as a Florida Gator and graduated with her Master in Occupational Therapy degree in 2016.
Kalie previously worked at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital where she gained experience with the infant population, as well as extensive knowledge with the pediatric population as a whole.
She is also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional - Child & Adolescent (CCATP-CA) who has a passion for helping kids struggling with anxious and worried thoughts. Her goal is to improve kids' independence, confidence, and life skills through an occupational therapy approach to treat anxiety.
As a military wife herself, she is driven to help anxious military kids who struggle with the frequent change, deployments, and new environments including new schools & new friends.
Kalie has a passion for making a difference. She loves the role she gets to play as an occupational therapist — an encourager, a problem solver, a support system, an educator. She thoroughly enjoys working alongside caregivers to help meet their child’s goals in all settings.
Gabriela is a Florida International University alumna, who graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreational Therapy in 2017 and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree in 2020.
Gabriela is a bilingual occupational therapist who has always had a passion for working with children and their families. Coming from a big family with many younger children, she found joy in discovering ways to help their development of skills to achieve their highest level of success within their everyday lives. Furthermore, she has hands on experience with a variety of diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, neurological conditions, and behavioral difficulties.
Gabriela continues to grow her knowledge and skills on sensory integration and various models of practice within the pediatric population. She is dedicated to supporting children’s development, hoping to positively impact their lives and growth. Gabriela is devoted to providing holistic individualized treatment for children and their families.
